Descendants of Summer
Bermuda
(2017 - In-Progress)
Descendants of Summer (working title) is a multi-chaptered narrative that seeks to explore the complex identities and cultural inheritance of one of the last and oldest remaining British Overseas Territories on earth, the island of Bermuda. Born and raised in this community, this documentary is an investigation into the layers of our past - soaked in centuries of post-colonial aftermaths and the echoes of an empire. The work explores our heroes and heroines, our ghosts and demons, and ultimately how we perceive and ‘accept’ one another in the face of a changing world - unpacking the complexities of home and the narratives that make up place and identity.
